- 1I like the way mBox Mail works on my iPhone/Touch do you have a solution for the Mac?
- Yes, we have now released mBox Mail for Mac.
- 2Can I get a notification when my Windows Live Hotmail account gets a new email?
- Yes, as of mBox Mail 3.0 we support visual, audio and badge notifications.
If you are not using the most recent version of mBox Mail you can find the update in Apple App Store. Your device must have OS v3.0 or greater for notifications to work. - 3I have iPhone 3.0 or greater and mBox Mail 3.0 or greater and I am still not getting my Mail Notificaiotns what can I do?
- You need to open an mBox Mail at least once to get any new mail .
If the application has been run and the device is connected over Wi-Fi and is still unable to receive notifications, the Wi-Fi network you're using might have a firewall that is blocking port 5223. This port must be open to TCP traffic for notifications to work.
You can find out more information about how Mail Notifications work here. - 4How do I disable the mail Notifications during night hours?
- mBox Mail is equipped with a feature called "Quiet Hours" that is located in the applications about view.
When you turn Quiet Hours on you will be able to enter a time range. Any notifications that are received within that time frame will be silent. - 5My notifications for my iPod Touch work sometimes but they are sporadic. What can I do?
- When the iPod touch screen is on and has a Wi-Fi connection, push notifications are received at any time. If the iPod touch screen is asleep, it will check every 15 minutes for a notification.
You can find out more information about how Mail Notifications work here. - 6Why is my badge getting reset after I close the app?
- While testing mBox Mail with our Beta Testers and users we found that people were more interested in how many new email they have received since they last ran mBox Mail.
In response to this feedback we have change the way the unread badge works. It now is removed when you close the application and is updated each time a notification is received with the current number of new unread emails that have arrived in the mailbox since the application was run last.
We are researching ways to make this better fit for all users of mBox Mail. If you are not interested in notifications and want the old badge behavior back you can disable notifications for all accounts and your badge will return to showing the number of unread email in your mailbox. - 7How do I disable the mail Notifications?
- Open mBox Mail and in the accounts view, press the Edit button.
Go through each account you would like to disable notifications for by flipping the 'Push Notifications' switch to OFF.
To disable only visual or sound alerts and keep the badge notifications, you may do so in the Settings application, select Notifications and adjust the Notification settings for mBox Mail accordingly.
Restart mBox Mail to sync settings with the server. - 8I'm noticing some delay in receiving my mail Notifications. Is this normal?
- Yes, because of the nature of email it may take some time for messages to reach your Inbox. mBox Mail will regularly query the mailbox to see if any new mail is available. Generally you can expect to see your new mail notification within 5 minutes and often it is much faster than that.
If you are seeing delays greater than 5 minutes find the FAQ here that matches your specific situation. - 9I keep seeing a pop up that says "Auto download is turned off for this folder". How do I enable auto download?
